Stanton & Stanton is a boutique law firm based in Sydney. They assist all types of businesses and individuals – from ASX 200 corporations to mid-cap firms and small companies, to family groups and farm partnerships, to high-net-worth individuals and retirees.
The problem
During the COVID pandemic, Stanton & Stanton, like many businesses, needed their employees to work from home to allow them to continue their business operations.
Unfortunately, they realised that their infrastructure didn’t allow them to operate remotely efficiently, as it had been designed to be accessed onsite only.
From their on-premises server to their telephony system, their entire infrastructure needed to be upgraded to allow them to operate with more flexibility.
Our initial diagnostic uncovered multiple issues that needed immediate action:
- The on-site server was outdated
- The telephony infrastructure did not allow to work remotely
- Some custom legal applications couldn’t be migrated to a cloud solution
- Microsoft 365 was not configured adequately
- The devices used by the team were not managed
- Their overall system and their data were not secured
Our Solution
Our recommendation was to move their ecosystem to a complete cloud solution.
As they had invested in Microsoft 365, we recommended to move their entire infrastructure around a Microsoft365 environment.
We implemented Azure Active Directory Domain Service (AADDS), to allow their legacy applications to be run in the cloud and to migrate their old business servers.
We rolled out a modern device management system, Microsoft Intune, which ensured that managed devices can provide the resources that their users need, while protecting the data from any cyberthreat.
The Results
The implementation has allowed Stanton and Stanton to fully embrace what cloud solutions have to offer.
The new infrastructure allowed them easily move office and the team can now operate remotely while working in a more secure environment, reinforcing the resilience of their business.
